THINGS TO DO
Lafayette, Louisiana is a center hub for hundreds of festivals all year long. The culture here is one of a kind, and the various festivals highlight our heritage like you wouldn’t believe. You always have options here, whether you like live concerts, music and food festivals, or beautiful parks to hang out at. Festival Acadian and Festival international bring in people from all over the world, and it is right here in our backyard!
We promise it is cooler than it sounds! You can take tours and get up close and personal with big alligators, turtles, and tons of bird species. For those brave enough, you can rent kayaks and spend the day fishing or paddling around the beautiful Lake Martin, which is about 15 minutes away from campus.
PLACES TO EAT
A local landmark and food staple. Judice Inn has been serving the same, fresh burgers since 1947. Their menu is still the same as it was back then, and their alway fresh burgers are a local favorite.
Pop’s Poboys opened in April 2015 and is located in beautiful downtown Lafayette. Chef Collin Cormier and his team bring eclectic flair to Louisiana’s favorite sandwich and beyond. Enjoy genuine food and drink in a casual setting
Old Tyme Grocery
Open since 1982, Old Tyme Grocery has been serving up some of the best sandwiches in town. Their Springtime Lent specials are unbeatable! Make sure you try their fried shrimp or seasonal soft-shell crab poboy.
